Our Programs
We are organized and operated exclusively to conduct charitable and educational activities related to urban agriculture, healthy food, and skills related to growing, distributing, and processing fresh produce.
PEAT
The Program for Entrepreneurial and Agricultural Training (PEAT) is a summer employment program that provides an opportunity for low-income and at-risk teens to learn new skills.
FAIR
Farming After Incarceration Release (FAIR Initiative or FAIR) was created. to engage formerly incarcerated individuals in urban agriculture to create economic opportunity for themselves, families, and neighbors.
Markets
NFS is affiliated with the South Madison Farmers’ markets where our trainees can gain experience marketing and selling their goods and produce. This is a first step towards independence.
